You don't have to do anything. It?s like a community college, everyone who applies gets accepted.

I had applied to Barry and FAU, but FIUApr 25 2010Nursing
I had applied to Barry and FAU, but FIU was the school I was hoping to get in. These past three years at FIU have been amazing and I don't ever regret going there one bit! However, you may want to consider going somewhere else for the Nursing program. Their nursing program is very hard to get in. You cannot repeat any of your science courses and you must pass the CLAST exam. Unfortunately, I am not eligible to go into the Nursing program so I must transfer somewhere else. In my opinion, I would suggest Nova for their nursing program. It's the only thing closest to FIU in terms of the large buildings and plenty of activities.

Well given that the admission rate was 34% inMar 21 2010Business - Management and Administration
Well given that the admission rate was 34% in 2009, meaning it was the HARDEST school to get into in Florida (yes, harder than UF and UM), I'd say it's very competitive to get in. I'd say get a really high SAT score and do well in high school, and you're good.

It's really easy to get into FIUMar 02 2010Language - French/Spanish/etc.
it's really easy to get into FIU. and they don't require an essay. i had a gpa of 3.0 which i was pretty embarassed about, that's one of the lower gpa's from my high school and nowadays, a 3.0 (at least in the Northeast where i'm from) meant that i couldn't go to some wonderful and difficult to get into universities that i had wanted. but then FIU told me that a 3.0 was a superb gpa (wtf??) and that i was obviously gonna be accepted. a lot of the fiu students in high school had low gpas and even in college do too. but that doesn't reflect the rigor of FIU's classes or programs.
